21.5.2026 | The Border Guard renews and diversifies border jaeger training in Ivalo and Onttola. The new border jaeger training starts in summer 2028 in Ivalo. Already in the autumn call-up this year, it will be possible to apply for the new border jaeger training that starts in 2028. Application to border jaeger training is carried out via call-up.

In terms of area, the Lapland Border Guard District is the largest and northernmost administrative unit of the Finnish Border Guard. It monitors a total of 1,608 kilometres of national border.
