The West Finland Coast Guard District’s operating area includes 1,080 kilometres of territorial water border and 48 kilometres of land border. It has 10 coast guard stations and two patrol vessels.

The Gulf of Finland Coast Guard District’s area of responsibility extends from Hanko to the eastern Gulf of Finland and the maritime border between Finland and Russia. It is also responsible for border security duties at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.
