Rajamme Vartijat 1/2026 celebrates the one hundred years of Border Guard education

The first Rajamme Vartijat issue of 2026 has now been published. The theme of this issue is Education 100, that is to say, the first one hundred years of Border Guard education. You can familiarise yourself with the studies of border guards in 1926, as well as today’s special forces education.

Border Museum Specialist Jani Loijas presents the first stages of Border Guard education in his article. Moreover, the Border and Coast Guard Academy talks about their current operations, as well as of officer’s education. Coast guards’ competence together with maritime safety education complete our situational awareness.
