26.8.2025 | The first aircraft in the Finnish Border Guard MVX project, OH-MVX, is soon to be completed on Bombardier's production line, in Montreal. The progress of the aircraft has been closely monitored by the MVX program.

13.3.2026 | In autumn 2025, the Finnish Border Guard initiated an assessment, in accordance with the Government programme, of the replacements of the current maritime search and rescue helicopters soon coming to the end of their life cycle. The project carries the name HVX project. This name follows the registration numbers of the current helicopters, which start with OH-HV. 

10.10.2025 | On 26 September 2025, Bombardier handed over the MVX project’s first aircraft to the integrator, Sierra Nevada Company (SNC), in Montreal, Canada. After the handover and acceptance, the aircraft was flown to SNC’s aircraft integration centre in Hagerstown, Maryland, in the USA, in order to commence the installations. The registration number of the first aircraft will be OH-MVX.

30.9.2025 | The construction of the Finnish Border Guard’s new patrol vessels, ordered from Meyer Turku, proceeds. The second vessel’s keel laying was celebrated on Tuesday, 30 September 2025.

27.6.2024 | The Finnish Border Guard's Dornier 228 surveillance aircraft are coming to the end of their life cycle.
