Arrival and movement within the museum area
A museum guide or other Border Guard staff will meet visitors at the parking lot on Niskapietiläntie. At this point, we will check the names of registered visitors and ID documents for adults.
Proceed to and from the museum located on the garrison area under staff guidance. Wear your visitor badge around your neck at all times and return it when leaving. Note that photography is prohibited in the garrison area.
No pets are allowed in the museum or on the Imatra garrison area. Vehicles must be left in the parking area outside the garrison fence.
Please arrive on time, as latecomers may miss the tour.
The museum tour includes a 30–40-minute guided tour, after which visitors have time to explore the exhibitions independently. Admission is free.

The car park of the Officer’s club at Niskapietiläntie 29, 55910 Imatra (photo 1) is available for museum visitors. Visitors are kindly asked to park their cars primarily in the parking spaces on the right side of the yard, in order to provide sufficient space for possible buses to turn around in the yard.
There is an approximately 300-meter-walk from the car park to the garrison gate, where the museum guide or other member of the Border Guard staff will meet the visitors. It is also possible to drive your car in front of the gate, but the space is limited due to construction work.
The gate is located at Niskapietiläntie 32, 55910 Imatra (address of the Officer’s club).
- Please note that some navigation systems may direct you about 50–100 meters past the correct intersection.
When the road turns sharply to the right (see photo 2), turn left at the bend toward the garrison gate (see photo 3).
