The aim of the survey is to find out the extent of the Finnish Border Guard’s, and its border and coast guard districts’, impact on how safe residents in sparsely populated areas feel. The questionnaires will be posted to residents in the area in November 2025.

Surveys at border crossing points will be carried out at the airports in Helsinki, Rovaniemi and Kuusamo.

The results from the survey will be utilised by the Finnish Border Guard in developing their operations and services.

This survey will be carried out by an impartial research company, Innolink Research Oy, on behalf of the Finnish Border Guard.
