21.5.2026 | The Border Guard renews and diversifies border jaeger training in Ivalo and Onttola. The new border jaeger training starts in summer 2028 in Ivalo. Already in the autumn call-up this year, it will be possible to apply for the new border jaeger training that starts in 2028. Application to border jaeger training is carried out via call-up.

19.12.2025 | The Entry/Exit System (EES) started to be operational on 12 October 2025. In Finland, in Lapland Border Guard District and at the Lapland airports, the EES is introduced gradually, while taking into consideration the hectic winter travel season.

15.6.2026 | The first Rajamme Vartijat issue of 2026 has now been published. The theme of this issue is Education 100, that is to say, the first one hundred years of Border Guard education. You can familiarise yourself with the studies of border guards in 1926, as well as today’s special forces education.

20.3.2026 | The Finnish Border Guard celebrates its anniversary with dignity while working. Promoted and rewarded colleagues are celebrated in anniversary celebrations arranged for the personnel.

26.10.2023 | The eastern border barrier fence project has proceeded into the stage that the Finnish Border Guard has introduced the approximately three kilometres long barrier fence that was built during the pilot stage in Pelkola, Imatra. This stage was completed with a minor delay. The construction of the pilot fence was followed and analysed throughout the process. Experiences from this offer an excellent base for the construction of the next stage.
